The short version

What we collect
Browsing without an account. Nothing is stored about you. Your compare list and cart are kept in your own browser, not on our servers.
Your account. Your email address and password (stored securely, and never visible to us), and the date you confirmed you are 18 or older and accepted our terms. When you share a photo, the part of your email before the “@” is shown as your name. Your email address itself is never shown.
Favorites and recently viewed. If you are signed in, we save the products you favorite and the products you have viewed, so they follow you between devices.
Photos and stories you share. The photo, caption, story and category, the date you agreed to our terms for it, and its moderation status. Our upload form removes location data (GPS) from photos before they are sent, but it cannot remove what is visible in the picture itself.
Reports and appeals. What you report and why. If you are signed in when you report something, the report is linked to your account.
Our Muses. If you apply to be featured, the form collects your name, role, location, story, portrait, an optional link and your product picks. It is shown on the site only if we accept your application.
Brand accounts. If you apply to list a brand's products, we collect the brand's name and website, your work email, your role and anything you tell us, to confirm you represent the brand. Products you submit, with their photos, descriptions, prices, tags and certification details, are kept so we can review them and, once approved, show them on the site.
The AI assistant. Your question is sent to our AI provider to produce an answer. We do not save your questions.
Technical information. To stop abuse, we briefly keep your IP address in memory to count requests. It is not written to a database and is forgotten within about an hour. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of.
When you click a link to a retailer such as Amazon, you leave EarthyMuse. The retailer may set its own cookies, including one that tells it we sent you, under its own privacy policy.
Why we use it
- —to run your account and save your favorites;
- —to show, moderate and protect the photos people share;
- —to answer questions you ask the assistant;
- —to prevent spam, abuse and illegal content;
- —to meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that run the site:
- —Supabase stores our database, accounts and uploaded photos, and sends the email that confirms your account.
- —Our hosting provider serves the website.
- —OpenRouter, and the AI model providers it connects to, receive the questions you ask the assistant. Please do not include personal details in them.
- —A child-safety scanning service checks uploaded photos for child sexual abuse material.
- —Tally runs the Our Muses application form.
We will also disclose information when the law requires it, for example reporting child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, or responding to a valid legal order.
How long we keep it
Your account, favorites, viewing history and photos are kept until you delete them or your account. Deleting your account deletes all of these. Reports you made are kept, but no longer linked to you.
The one exception: if we are legally required to preserve something, such as material we have reported to the authorities, we keep it for as long as the law requires, even if a deletion was requested.
Your rights, including in California
You can ask us to:
- —tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- —give you a copy of it;
- —correct it;
- —delete it, including your whole account.
Email [hello@yourdomain.com] from the address on your account, so we know the request is really from you. We reply within 45 days, and we will never treat you differently for asking. Since we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of, and we treat browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control as a request not to.
Children and teens
EarthyMuse is only for adults aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account or given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Uploaded photos are kept in private storage and shown through short-lived links. Passwords are stored by Supabase using one-way hashing. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you do not use anywhere else.
Changes
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site before they take effect.
